How To Terminate A RCA Compression Connector

If you read our Tutorial on How To Terminate a BNC Compression Connector Then you’ll probably notice the process is very similar. However most Compression tools are not really designed to Terminate RCA. I use the Etekcity Multifuntional Coax Compression Tool as it supports BNC, F and RCA.

Tools Needed

BNC Compression Tool

Coax Strippers

Snips

Materials Needed

Siamese or RG-59 Cable

RCA Compression Connectors

Step 1: Separate your RG-59 and 2 Conductor Cable

Step 2: Insert The RG-59 Cable in the Coax Stripper and Twirl the Strippers about 5 or 6 times. These Strippers will Strip the RG-59 to the Dimensions we need.

The Cable should look like this after you Strip it.

Step 3: Peel the Stranded Shield back like this. Make Sure the Shield does not touch the Center Pin.

Step 4: Insert the RCA Pin over the Center Conductor on the RG-59 Cable like this.

Step 5: If using the Etekcity Compression Tool make sure the RCA Die in installed in the Tool and Crimp.

Step 6: Repeat the process on the other end of the cable and you are ready to go.
