How To Terminate a BNC Compression Connector

There are a few types of BNC Connectors out there such as Crimp On, Twist On and Compression. I recommend to just stick with The Compression type as they are way faster to Install than the Old Crimp on Connector. The Twist On Connectors are Simply Useless dont use them…. EVER!!!

I may go over the Crimp On Connectors in the Future but for now lets get Started on the Compression Connector.

Tools Needed

BNC Compression Tool

Coax Strippers

Snips

Materials Needed

Siamese or RG-59 Cable

BNC Connectors

Step 1: Separate your RG-59 and 2 Conductor Cable

Step 2: Insert The RG-59 Cable in the Coax Stripper and Twirl the Strippers about 5 or 6 times. These Strippers will Strip the RG-59 to the Dimensions we need.

The Cable should look like this after you Strip it.

Step 3: Peel the Stranded Shield back like this. Make Sure the Shield does not touch the Center Pin.

Step 4: Place the BNC Connector over the Cable and Twist a little as you push down.

Step 5: Place the Cable into the Compression Tool and Crimp

Step 6: Repeat these steps on the other end of the Cable and they are ready to go.
